As a member of the TOS Crew I received a link to access a digital copy of The Person I Marry. (The digital copy is not available for retail purchase)  Because I haven’t seen a physical copy of the book, I can’t comment on the quality of the printing, the formatting or the binding, but I can say that the pictures are gorgeous.  This would be a wonderful treasure of a book to just sit and cuddle with a young child and look at the pictures.

I had hoped to use this book as a spring board for discussions with my teen daughters, however, I really feel the book is better suited to younger children.  I think this would be an excellent book for a young child who has an older sibling who is beginning  to date/court or will be attending or participating in a wedding.

Comments

  1. I just read another review that suggested older kids may also like the book. I was considering it for a friend with older kids, but my kids are young so I wasn't sure if it would be a good match.

  2. Well my 16 year old really disliked it. She was turned off by the style of writing. My 14 year old though it was ok. I really wanted to use it to discuss character qualities. I think the style of the book is very appropriate for young children and I'm sure the actual book would be beautiful to just have lying around. Based on my 16 year old's reaction, though i would not give this as a gift to an older child.
